ABYMC originally launched in January 2004. At the time, it was called the Association of Backyard Metalcasters.
I started it as a tight-knit group of hobbyist metal casters who connected in online forums and shared our knowledge about metal casting, metalworking, blacksmithing, and more. A couple of our original articles are still on the site today!
Today, the site lives on as a resource documenting everything related to the metalcasting hobby, as well as information about crafts, metalwork, and metal.
